| My primary role is to support the implementation and use of Geographic Information System technology here on campus. In addition, I share responsibility for the unix computers in the Environmental and Remote Technologies Lab (MacMillan Hall Room 105) with Bill Fripp (Bill does the heavy duty unix administration - security and upgrades - while I take care of the more mundane tasks such as adding user accounts and archiving project files). I am responsible for maintenance and backup of PCs and Macs used by Environmental Studies students, staff and faculty in MacMillan Hall, including PCs that interface with analytical equipment (Ion Chromatograph, spectrometer, Carbon-Nitrogen Elemental Analyzer, etc.). I am available to provide backup support to the student DCC at the Center for Environmental Studies and would assume this responsibility in total should a student not be available. |

| I work in Geological Sciences and support Windows, Macintosh, networking in general and printing, both local and networked. Margaret Doll and I share responsibility for the Linux/Samba print server/domain controller (though she is the definitive UNIX/LINUX guru!). I have supported personal computers since the days of the first PCs and Macs (Lisa) in our department, as well as the infamous RTs. Computing support/training/procurement/repair is approximately 50% of my job. I also am the facilities and safety coordinator for my department and I manage, maintain and operate my own lab. I work closely with Margaret Doll, Lynn Carlson, Bill Fripp and now Carol DeFeciani. Together we work as a team to provide an efficient, reliable, safe and secure computing environment for our users collectively, and individually within our respective departments. |

I am the primary systems and network manager for
the SUN/Solaris Unix workstations in Lincoln Field Bldg.
Secondary to Lynn Carlson for the 119 subnet of SUN workstations
in MacMillan Hall. I do backup, troubleshooting, and technical
maintainance on all these machines. I also write, maintain, and build scientific applications software using C, Fortran, IDL/ENVI, and Matlab. Most of this work is involved in image analysis and satellite remote sensing applications. |
